Rain, rain, go away... bring back sunny Queensland days

There were no April fools in our home yesterday, but some "April flus" seem to have attacked us all. Perhaps it's just a cold from the change of weather, as it has been pouring down in Brisbane - just when we were hoping to finish some minor renovations on the bus in time for our visitors' arrival tomorrow. So we are literally under the weather, bus and all.

On a more positive note, the children have been quite amazing, and nobody's been climbing the walls as yet. They've been through their books, DVD's and a whole lot of A4 paper, but we've also seen some innovative dance moves in this small space as well singing accompanied by ukulele, guitar and kantele; surprisingly harmonius considering each instrument is missing a string and none of the singers know how to play them. We've had the compulsory jumping in puddles led by our two-year-old, and quick sprints in the park when there's been a pause in the rain. But regardless of what the rain is stopping us from doing, it does play a magnificent concert on the bus roof, and that I wouldn't swap for anything!

But as much as I love the pitter patter on our roof, it does remind me of some long rainy days spent stuck in a caravan in my childhood summers of Finland. And if my dear family are flying all the way to the other side of the world to supposedly sunny Queensland in order to perhaps escape typical Finnish weather, could we please deliver some, and more? So, if anyone knows of a guaranteed sunshiny spot in Queensland for the next few weeks, we are willing to travel!
